Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body set up by the ministry of human resources development, Govt of India. These are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.K V 2 Air Force Station started in 1983 at Akash Nagar, Pune. It was run in a temporary building. It had two sections from Class I to Class X. The new building was built in the present campus located near Burma Shell. The school shifted to the new sprawling campus in 1999. It was then upgraded to a three section school. In 2004 Class XI Science was started with strength of 30 plus students. The first batch of Class XII Science passed out in 2006. In 2008 another section of XI Science was added to cater to the growing strength of students. 2010 has the privilege of adding a XI Commerce stream.Located in Burma Shell in peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nestling among the hillocks and sylvan surroundings, it is indeed an ideal place for learning. Smile of verdant nature is what welcomes you as you enter the pristine surroundings of KV 2. The school takes great pride in the collection of exotic flowers and plants. The school is kitted with state of the art computer labs and endeavors to impart the basic and advanced skills of software and hardware to all. Books are the harbinger of knowledge and awareness. The school has a rich collection of books and periodicals for all ages. Concerted effort for imbibing cultural and musical aptitude among children are designed and made in the well stocked music room with skilled guidance. The school takes pride in its well equipped labs and the regulated teaching methods followed.All round development is taken care of by having regular co-curricular and sports and games activities. Excursions and educational films make learning fun.
